Hi Sara – what an amazing photo and flower .. and yes we should all be individual .. and Just Because – great thoughts … Wonderful picture …
Happy Easter … cheers for now – Hilary
@ Hilary — I hope you had a nice Easter. It is a cute flower, isn’t it and definitely unique looking:~)
we are all different
we are all the same
To each their own
few of the two
play the same game
words can rune
the heart of one
feeling another’s joy
eyes don’t always tell
of which one we hurt
and how with them we toy
@ Ellis — So very, very true!
What a gorgeous flower – I’ve never seen one like it!
That quote is one of my all time favourites, and it’s been my ‘quote of the week’ these last few weeks, keeping me going when I’m tempted to walk away from blogging, suffusing everything I do. Whether I’m up or down, inspired or disheartened, it always lifts me. Thank you!
@ Janice — That’s cool about the quote being your “quote of the week.” I fell in love with it because it makes me smile whenever I read it:~)
Love both the quote AND the flower! It looks like it is bursting, sort of like fireworks! 🙂 What is it, Sara?
@ Jean — Fireworks is a good way to describe it. It’s called a Spider Flower and comes in a variety of colors. This one was a gift from a bird:~)
TOTALLY on the “be yourself…” We are all born unique and when we are truly being ourselves we are not only happy, but inspire others to be their true selves too. And the “weirder” we allow ourselves to be — the less stress we feel, studies show! Said weirdness being lack of self-consciousness.
Another one here who has not seen such a bloom. Some kind of lily, it appears. Gorgeous! Is that in your garden?
As to your inquiry about my “Wedgie Wedding” lyric, I have copied and pasted it into my recent comment reply to you over at Funsterland.
@ Jannie — It is a funny, but cool looking flower. Thank you for telling about the lyric. I’ll be stopping by soon. I loved the “butt” song. You write wonderful songs. Some make me sigh because they are so beautiful, while others make me laugh because they tickle the funny bone. It’s a unique to gift to be able to do both in your songs/poetry!
@ Gerri — Thank you. Hope all is well with you:~)
This flower is beautiful!
This is also one of my favorite quotes. 🙂
@ Liz — I agree about the flower and the quote! Thanks for stopping by. I hope things are going well for you.
The quote goes with the photo perfectly! That Oscar Wilde quote is so perfectly true, too.
Happy Easter, Sara!
@ Lynn — To be honest, it took me awhile to figure out what went with the quote. When I found the picture of the Spider Flower, I laughed and knew it was the right photo.
Happy Easter, Sara! Thanks for what you said, that Eleanor Roosevelt would have liked what I said about her. I loved that!
@ Shay — You are welcome and I meant what I said:~)
Happy Easter, Sara. I can’t believe I missed this-I guess I’ve been busier than I thought. That is a lovely flower for a lovely season. Hope you are well and enjoying life.
@ Linda — That’s okay. I haven’t been putting up a post as frequently as I wanted. Thanks for well wishes…I send them back to you:~)
Aaah! It’s like some sort of floral octopus! It’s undoubtedly more effective at catching insects than a Venus Flytrap because it can snag them with its tendrils. Although deadly, it’s also beautiful, of course.
@ Chris — It does look a bit like an octopus, doesn’t it. It’s a strange looking flower. I don’t know about deadly. I guess it depends on who you ask:~) Hope all is well with you!!
What a great flower and nice picture of it’s bloomin’
We are having rain after a week of afternoon sunshine and the flowers look so lovely even wet.
I so like the quote you shared and I think it all the time when I am enjoying flowers which I think are great representatives of individualism.
Thank you for coming by and commenting – you encourage us all 🙂
@ Patricia — I’m so glad you liked the quote. It really is a cool flower.
You don’t have to thank me for visiting your site. I enjoy it. Plus, I learn about a lot of interesting books:~)
Amazing flower! And, yes, I love the quote! 🙂
@ Vesper — Isn’t it a cool quote!! It’s one of my favorites and somehow just fit that flower.
I see you’re back…I’m coming visiting soon:~)
