Being Brave

What does “being brave” make you think about?” What initially came to mind for me was the man who stood in front of the line of tanks in Tiananmen Square. But the more I thought about it, I realized bravery doesn’t always have to be as dramatic as that iconic image.

Sometimes being brave is just doing something that scares the living daylights out of you, but you do it anyway!

I’ll bet if you think about it, you’ll remember a time when you were brave either for yourself or someone else. Take another brave step: Tell someone about your experience or write it down. When you finish, say these words out loud, “I was brave to do what I did!”

~ This is dedicated to a good friend of mine who did something very brave and shared it with me!

Happy Heart Day

This leaf was just a plain old green leaf

Until the sun lit it and showed a heart.

May this day fill your heart with love, joy and peace.

Nature’s Wisdom – Courage

I love these flowers.

They tempt nature by not blooming until the temperature begins to drop.

As trees lose their leaves, these flowers are still baby buds on the bush!

Knowing how beautiful they’ll be, I hold my breath and hope they’ll bloom.

Some years I’m lucky and rewarded with flowers, like the one above.

Other years an early freeze arrives, leaving  flowers and buds  dead on the ground.

This year, the bush took on nature’s dare and is filled with flowers!

I think it’s a good metaphor for all of us…

When winter nips at our hearts, we, too, have to dare to bloom:~)
